THROAT PROBLEMS (LARYNGOLOGY)            

Dysphonia – voice abnormalities

Laryngitis – an inflamed voicebox

Laryngopharyngeal reflux – silent reflux

Reinke’s oedema – swelling in the vocal chords due to a build-up of fluid

Vocal cord lesions – nodules, cysts, polyps

Spasmodic dysphonia – the muscles in the throat make your voice spasm periodically

Muscle tension


Laryngeal cancer 


Tracheostomy –  this is a surgical procedure where an incision is made in the throat to make space for a direct airway to be placed inside, allowing you to breath


Dysphagia – swallowing difficulty
